doing the work he loves most, i.e. playing any game.
Daudbhai, a very energetic and active towards various sporting events from his youth has transferred that passion after his retirement. Having participated in various national level master swimming championships, he has won 12 gold, 8 silver and 5 bronze totaling 25 in past five years.
A retired senior accountant from A.G. Office, Rajkot, Mr. Fulani won gold medals of 50 &100 meters Back stroke and also, 50 & 100 meters Breast stroke events at national level swimming championship organized at Rajkot during 26-27 February. He won Bronze medal also in a relay competition.
At the age of 68, he gives youth a very hard competition and has kept winning gold medal from past five consecutive years. By doing that, he has kept himself a young by heart. Being an ex-student of RKC, sports are his true love. He could easily have achieved more in his job but a true lover of motherland, Daudbhai committed himself to sports for lifetime. Like all other citizens of India, Cricket was his first love in Sports but he then succeeded in to Table Tennis, Volleyball, Football, Hockey, Athletics, and Swimming and even in Cycling.
He is coming from Muslim convention society and has devoted his life for sports. He has participated at places like Jaipur, Gwalior, Delhi, Bangalore, Shilong, Chandigarh, Nagpur, Chennai, Sikandarbad, and Allahabad. He has broken national record on 4 occasions, twice at Mumbai in 2007 for 100 meter Back Stroke and Breast Stroke. As well as twice at Thiruvanantpuram in 2006 for 50 meter Breast stroke and 200 meter Free Style. He is praised and been awarded all around sporting fraternity and Muslim society.
While speaking about swimming world, he says that this world is not encouraged like other sports and is much costlier. He wishes to see more efforts to be put for the game so that it can stand tall around much hype of games like Cricket. Having been this aged person and showing this much enthusiasm for many sports is an achievement of its kind and inspiration to not only all Rajkot people but to the whole world and a true pride of our beloved city.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
Volleyball: Played
West Zone All India Audit Volleyball Tournament for seven years.
Football: Played
West Zone All India Football Tournament for nine years.
Table Tennis: Played
at Shilong and Allahabad in All India Audit Table Tennis Tournament
Hockey: Played at
Gwalior and Nagpur in Inter University Hockey Tournament representing Gujarat
University for two years. He participated at Chennai and Delhi in All India
Regional Sports Board Tournament.
Swimming: He has
broken national record for four times in swimming. Twice at Mumbai in 100 meter
Back Stroke and 100 Meter Breast Stroke, while twice at Thiruvanantpuram for 50 meter Breast Stroke and 200 Meter
Freestyle. Won four gold and one Bronze in National level Swimming Championship
organized at Rajkot in February 2010.
Athletics: Won
Gold, Silver and Bronze medals at Gujarat Masters Athletics Championships for
Veterans in 2008.
Cricket: He was part of the all-India Runners up
team in All India Civil Service Cricket tournament at Chandigarh in 1970.
Basket Ball: 5
times district player and Open Gujarat Basketball team player.
