The specific provision, which states to Saurashtra-Kutch teams of importance attached to the growth of irrigation and water supply, in this budget proposal, is regarding Gujarat-Saurashtra-Kutch grid-scheme, and bringing waters of Narmada-Dam to the areas of Saurashtra and Kutch to argument irrigation facilities of these areas.
Saurashtra – For supply of water to about 5 lacs hectre of lands, through irrigation based on Narmada, Saurashtra branch Canal, a provision of Rs. 2900 Crores is proposed. Kutch – For contraction of Narmada, a branch Canal in Kutch and works apartment thereto amount of Rs. 940 Crores is allocated in the budget proposals. Other Project – (1) For Increase of water running capacity of Narmada pipe line from Nurmada to Botad – Rs. 180 Crores is provided. (2) For laying Narmada pipe line from Kadiyati to Kesariya-Sonariya in Junagadh district Rs. 600 Crores is provided out of which Rs. 200 Crores would be expended this year. (3) For prevention of salinity ingress in the various areas of Kutch- Saurashtra and South Gujarat an amount of Rs. 154.82 Crores is provided.
