Vambe Residential Project
The ‘Vambe’ Residential Project under the RMC was handed over to public by Gujarat chief Minister Shree Narendra Modi . The function was graced by Shree Dhanshukhbhai Bhanderi. Finance Minister Vajubhai Vala, Nitinbhai Patel and other distinguish guest were present.

Praduman Park
Alongside with the park the RMC has opted an open a wild life Park. This would enhance more visits by public and Children. Few animals and birds would ornament the park and this would no double be an attraction for children who can enjoy themselves.

Open Air Theater
Open Air Theater installed at the corner of Race Course Ring Road & Jogging Park this open theater would cater for dance, drama, theater & other cultural activities. With a stage of 60” x 40” the approx. Area of 5000 sq.ft the open construction will soon be in progress. It has 2 green rooms, 2 store rooms and gents & ladies toilet. This in no doubt going to be a jewel in the crown for Rajkot.

Fountain
At Kotecha chowk at an estimated expense of 15 lak fountain was inaugurated. Balalji Wafers and Rajkot Municipal Corporation jointly ventured the event. On 1/12/06 the Mayor Shree Dhansukhbahi Bhanderi and Minister Shree L. K. Jadeja graced the occasion.

West - East Zone RMC Office
For easy access of public towards municipal offices has been setup into two offices. West Zone – Shree Zaverchand Meghani office, East zone – Shree Harisinhji Gohil offices, the main office at Dhebar Road has been renamed as the Central office. On Fridays the Mayor would be available to handle public problems form here.

City Bus Services
On October 2007 with suggestion from the state Govt., RMC with Raj City Bus Service have decided to run the city bus transport. Chief Guest on this occasions was the Rajkot Mayor Shree Dhansukhbhai Bhanderi along with all corporators. The city bus services are already on road.

Wi-Fi Network in Rajkot
Rajkot Municipal Corporation is a Civic Body which believes in keeping pace with time and technology. After successful implementation of its State of Art eGovernance project, now Rajkot Municipal Corporation is planning to go wireless. In the first quarter of next financial year some identified areas like University Campus, West Zone Zonal office of RMC and highly commercial areas like Harihar Chowk and Limda Chowk will be connected through Wi-Fi. Rajkot Municipal Corporation is also planning for Wi-Fi connectivity of its all 24 ward offices in the next phase of financial year 2008-2009. This will be first of its kind of Wi-Fi network in Gujarat.

This will be Point to Point and Point to Multiple Point connectivity. The whole network will be interference free network, with small wireless collision domain which will give better throughput per Wi-Fi distribution node. Also this will be fully secure network. In addition to that this network will be cable free network, which will reduce management and cable cost. Now every laptop comes with 802.11 adapters so that clients can connect easily to the network.

This Wi-Fi connectivity is aimed at boosting up infrastructure for the Information Technology enabled services and also increased penetration of the eGovernance initiatives. RMC has got technical feasibility report suggesting as a pilot project we can initially go for the four areas and after successful implementation of the same coverage can be increased for whole city of area 104 sq km. This project will be on PPP model.

RMC SMS Service
Rajkot Municipal Corporation is believe in keeping pace with time and technology. To provide one of the latest service to the tax payers of Rajkot, Rajkot Municipal Corporation is planning to provide all transaction details to its valuable tax payers through SMS. This is for the first time that any municipal corporation has started such service in India Tax payer has to enter his mobile number on our website www.rmc.gov.in. Once registered RMC will send details of modifications related to property tax alteration, i.e. their payment, new bill generation, reassessment or objection petition. Registration process is started from 25/02/2008. Sending of SMS alert will start from 01/04/2008. We hope that this service will not only ensure track of every transaction but will also encourage tax payers to pay their tax regularly.

Rajkot Municipal Corporation is also planning to send Property Tax bills through e-mail and for that same registration process need to be followed by tax payers. Sending of tax bills will start from 1st July 2008 and from next financial year RMC will send bills through e-mail only. This will save good amount of administration efforts to print, serve bills. This will also ensure that property bills will reach to tax payers. This service will be available to registered users only. Best part of this scheme will be that NRIs who are living outside Rajkot will get property demand bills immediately.

Musical Dancing Fountain
The RMC in its relent less effort to make the city beautiful will better standard of rimming and beatification has now talking up live Project of a dancing fountain. This Would be set up at the Race Course Ground near the cricket Pavilion.
In the effort to make this a better place for both children and Senior citizens the project has been welcomed by the citizens of Rajkot.
With a seating capacity of 2000 people this covers an area of 1750 sq .miter. The whole system 0f the dancing fountain would be synchronized with sound and light which well be technically operated. The one of its kind can be seen at the Brindavan Garden in Bangalore.

RMC BRTS Project
Rajkot BRTS project cover under india's best five projects. Few highlights of the project are

Rs 110-crore Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS), involving construction of special corridors encircling the city, has been sanctioned for Rajkot under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). Work on the first phase of the project is scheduled to begin in August and is expected to finish by 2010-end.

Work on the project — linking Gondal Road, Jamnagar Road, Greenland Chowkdy and Kuwadva Road — will be carried out in three phases.
According to the RMC, the Central government will bear 50 per cent of the total cost of the project, state government 20 per cent and the RMC will bear 30 per cent of the total cost.
